My approach to supervision relies on developing the therapist’s voice to bring their style to a strong foundation of clinical theory. Having taught Attachment Theory, Trauma and its Effects, and Object-Relations theory for over 20 years, I can provide the foundational structure for delivering effective therapy and the professional development needed to evolve professionally.
I developed and was the training director of the practicum, internship, and post-doctoral training programs at Child Haven, Inc., a family mental health agency that provides services to children ages 0-18 and their families in Fairfield, CA., from 2003 through June 2022. I have taught and supervised over 70 graduate students over the 22 years I have been at Child Haven. In addition, I have treated many children and families there, first as a post-doctoral fellow and then as a staff psychologist.
I have taught classes such as “Child Development,” “Treating the Trauma Survivor,” and “Dehumanization” in programs such as the Wright Institute and NCSPP (Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
